We are working towards the “New Normal”.
There is no doubt that the past few months have been challenging for business and that we all face an uncertain future with huge changes likely to become the new normal.
Down Forklift Training is aware that training requirements and the way that we do our business will be crucial both to our customers and to ourselves. We have taken relevant advice and spoken to accrediting bodies and the HSE and have produced new methods of training to positively move forward in the future.
Over the past few weeks, we have been working to ensure that we can get back to training as soon as possible. We have been introducing the following measures at the training centre –
1. Social distancing measures.
2. Hand sanitisation measures and procedures.
3. Vehicle sanitisation measures and procedures.
4. Classroom training protocol.
We have also set up measures to introduce theory training via the remote ZOOM App to limit the amount of time that a student would normally spend in the classroom. This training will be hosted and taught by our instructors and can be carried out on a computer and the testing process administered by ourselves at the training centre. The practical training can then be carried out as soon as possible after the theory testing. We will still be providing live training in the classroom for those who want to continue to do so. It is an option for companies to explore.
Below available for download is our new training method statement and a copy of the HSE’s current guidance on the requirement for training during the COVID-19 pandemic for your perusal. You will see that there are quite a few changes to the way that we will have to do our training and also a few requirements that we need for site training. We will follow all Company procedures whilst training on a customer’s premises as long as they meet the training requirements laid down in our training method statement.
For us to facilitate training can we ask that you have a look at your training requirements and select your preferred method of theory delivery and email us with your preferred training dates. We can then look at a schedule of training and try to facilitate you as much as we possibly can.
I appreciate that these are challenging times for everyone and we look forward to continuing our ongoing training relationship in the future.
If you have any questions or queries on training matters, please do not hesitate to contact us in the office, 02891 468111, or by email, dflt@hotmail.co.uk, and we will be more than happy to answer your queries or assist you in booking training.
Yours sincerely,
Pauline Galloway
